The AU4991 is a monolithic half-bridge Smart Power Stage with built-in internal power MOSFETs and gate drivers. It delivers 90 A output current over a wide input supply range. It is designed to work with Aurasemi’s controller to implement a high-density multiphase voltage regulator.
Integration of the driver and MOSFETS results in high efficiency due to optimized dead time, Rdson, VIN ringing control and switching loss reduction. This smart power stage device includes fault protection circuits for over temperature, over current,VDD/VDRV and VIN under voltage lockout (UVLO), HS Fault, Low Side Fault detection and TLVR Open/Short detection. AU4991 immediately reports faults to the controller on fault detection. When combined with Aurasemi’s controller, the SPS supports limp mode of operation in case of faults.
This device works with tri-state output controllers. It also integrates high accurate current and temperature monitoring circuitry.
The AU4991 is ideal for CPU core power delivery in server and telecom applications where efficiency and small size are a premium.
This very small 5 mm × 6 mm LGA-41pin device can operate of up to 2 MHz.
